The phobia's documentary, is a set of 5 documentaries that focus the several different types of phonia's(fears that are out of control) and have real-life example of people struggling wit these fears on an everyday occurance. At first thought this documentary uses shock tactics to gain the audiences attention through using shocking second uni fillers of babys sitting around a group of snakes, whilst the 'voice of god' narrative' continues to describe to the audience the defination of phobia's. The new wave of documentaries are seen to be popular, and this particular documentary has a specific signatures to identify its USP which are the shocking visual images used as fillers. The documentary serves its purpose to both entertain and inform through using real-life examples of peoples experiences with phobias for the entertainemnt value whilst informed the viewer why this is happening and it is caused by.

The Horizon's documentaries are seen as ground breaking, and this one is no different.  Orginally aired on Febuary 3rd 2010, and based on a modern and excited topic, the elixor of life drugs, 'Dont grow old' focuses on ways in which this drug can actually be used and if it actually works, wit the reasons why this could be behind it.The layout of this documentary is very similar to other Horison productions, with most following a similar theme or pattern. The beginnign of the documentaries all start with a sequences of viewers, statements and fillers to grab the audeinces attention and inform them of what this particular documentary is about, similar to even a 'mini trailer' using the dramatic statements and footage used through the documentary, and is the only example of recent content as to initially draw viwers in. There is contstant use of amotive fillers, flashing back to achieve footage of food adverts and nutirion programmes that are relating to the documentaryand are part of the second unit. There is also a lot of 'beathing' within the documentary, for the audience to absorb the amount of information just given to them

BBC created a set of documentaries called Explorations, in September 2003,  and was  a Documentary TV Series that looks into the many aspects of the human life incuding science, technology and research. The part I studied was based on Phobia's and called 'Primal Fears', that focused on several different types of phobia's (fears that are out of control) and have real-life examples of people struggling with these fears on an everyday occurance. There is a definate merge of both drama and documentary within this spefic part, with the focus mainly being on the real life people's reactions to the phobia's and how they will react to it for even entertainemnt value, whilst still presentating the audience with facts, figures and sinerios in which phobia's occur and settle. The orgin's of phobia's are also delt with, through the voice of godnarratorthat informs the audience what is happening on screen, becuase ofcompared to for example the Horizon documentaries the lack of interviews (primary units)and more contextual fillers that give the audience a visual of the fear that the people centred in the documentary is dealing with and what they might be feeling or thinking.
